Gulino, who has been involved in the antiques trade in Wales since 2010, has always claimed that he had nothing to do with the murder of the Bulgarian dissident writer in London in 1978, APA recalls.

Georgi Markov is a Bulgarian writer and dissident who lived in London from 1969 until his assassination in 1978.

In the UK, he works for BBC Radio and Free Europe. He is the author of “Absentee Reports for Bulgaria”, which includes a series of essays broadcast on Radio Free Europe. In them he tells about life in socialist Bulgaria.

On September 7, 1978 in London an assassination attempt was made against Georgi Markov and a few days later he died. His murder gained a wide public response around the world and became known as the “murder with the Bulgarian umbrella”.
