Gazprom sharply increased gas supplies to Turkey
This year, Russian gas supplies have grown by 150% and reached a record high.
Russian Gazprom supplied Turkey with 20.3 billion cubic meters of gas in 2021, which is the maximum figure in less than nine months. This was reported by the press service of the company following the meeting of its head Alexey Miller with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Fatih Donmez on Monday, September 20.
At the same time, last year for this period, supplies amounted to only 8 billion cubic meters. m.
“The parties highly appreciated the work of the Blue Stream and Turkish Stream gas pipelines, which reliably transport Russian gas through the Black Sea to consumers,” the message says.
As you know today gas prices in Europe exceeded $ 900 again per thousand cubic meters. This happened after Gazprom again refused to book additional capacities for gas supplies to Europe.
The record rise in prices was caused by low gas reserves in Europe. According to Gazprom estimates, backlog of gas injection into European UGS facilities is 22.9 billion cubic meters.
