MOSUL, KOMPAS.com – A museum of Iraq the members ransacked ISIS and its artifacts looted and finally successfully restored and has been reopened to the public.

The exhibit is being held in a restored museum hall four years after the terrorist group looted it Daily Mail, Friday (27/11/2020).
ISIS invaded Mosul in 2014, overwhelmed the Iraqi army with blitzkrieg, then declared the ISIS state.
The museum was one of the group’s main targets in Mosul, so ISIS militias immediately destroyed it artifact which they thought represented gods and idols.

Many of these artifacts are relics of the nation Sumer, one of the first human civilizations whose inhabitants lived along the edge Euphrates River and the Tigris some 3,000 years ago.
Statues, pottery, and tablets originating in this civilization include objects destroyed by ISIS forces.
Whereas the relic is considered as an invaluable chapter in the history of human civilization.
Three years after occupying Mosul, the Iraqi army was assisted by the coalition-led forces AS finally managed to reclaim the city in 2017.
The curator finally works to restore the damaged museum so that it can return to its original state.

Museum Mosul some of them reopened in January 2019 when they held a contemporary art exhibition entitled Return to Mosul in the hall.
However, at that time, most of the buildings remained closed as restoration work was ongoing.
Now, there are enough rooms in the Mosul Museum that visitors can access while works of art are displayed throughout the main hall.

Mosul Eye, a Twitter account run by historians in Mosul, wrote on Twitter about the exhibition.
“Daesh (ISIS) is gone, our Mosul Museum is back. Daesh will never win, “wrote Mosul Eye on Twitter.

Daesh is a term for ISIS which the group deems offensive because it sounds similar to their name in Arabic, but means to stomp their feet.
Some of the statues were destroyed by ISIS members. However, the group left behind several artifacts and was smuggled out of Iraq and sold to fund the group.
Video released from inside the Mosul Museum at the time the artifact was destroyed shows the militia denouncing the statue and the idol.
A caption displayed on the video says that the artifact did not exist at the time of the Prophet, and was exhibited by Satanists.
The militiamen were then seen smashing the artifacts with sledge hammers, dropping several statues, then shattering them on the floor.

A professor at the College of Archeology in Mosul, Amir al-Jumaili, said he was surprised to hear the artifacts historic at the Mosul Museum destroyed by ISIS.
“I was very surprised. This is a disaster. With the destruction of these artifacts, we can no longer be proud of the Mosul civilization, ”said Jumaili at that time.
