Munich (dpa / lby) – After beer gardens and street cafes in Bavaria are allowed to open at low incidence values, there are demands for a permit for indoor catering. The Bavarian cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU), wants to advise on further easing of measures in the fight against the corona pandemic on Friday – this should also include gastronomy, culture and sport.
The previous Corona regulations, last updated on May 25, expire this Sunday (June 6). On Thursday, the incidence – the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days – in Bavaria was 34.2, as reported by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI).
The health policy spokeswoman for the SPD in the state parliament, Ruth Waldmann, called on Thursday for the curfew for outdoor restaurants to be lifted as well as a reliable concept for opening indoor restaurants. “Many meetings of young people now take place in the open air – in sometimes precarious situations.” That is why an open outdoor restaurant with good hygiene concepts and contact tracking makes sense.
Waldmann called for openings to be handled responsibly. Experiences with outdoor dining would have to be closely monitored with a view to opening up indoor dining. “The landlords need reliability. Many currently do not have enough staff. If they hire someone, they have to be able to employ them. The worst would be openings followed by closings.”
Bavaria’s Dehoga President Angela Inselkammer last week called for indoor catering to be opened immediately to vaccinated, convalescent and people with a negative corona test, regardless of incidence values. “Experience has shown that our operations are safe,” she said. The Dehoga Bayern also called for a controlled opening of discos and clubs – especially with a view to rioting in city centers and illegal parties.
In the past few days, a large number of further demands and suggestions on corona policy had come from the political landscape in Bavaria. The SPD demands that the amusement parks in Bavaria be opened as soon as possible. Among other things, the Free Voters had called for the distribution of vaccines to be organized differently in order to compensate for the possible disadvantages of rural regions when accessing vaccine.
