A helpless person in the Ruhr was reported to the fire brigade control center in Mülheim an der Ruhr at around 10:00 this Sunday morning. This should be on the towpath in the flora bridge area in the water. The water rescue platoon from Broich Fire Station 1 was immediately sent to the Florabrücke site with the keyword “Person in the water”. Even before the first responders arrived, witnesses present and other passersby rescued the elderly woman who was floating in the water and then took care of her in a stable lateral position. After the subsequent treatment of the first aid and emergency doctor, the elderly injured person was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further investigation. After about 30 minutes, the operations of the fire brigade and the rescue service were finished.
The firefighters express their gratitude to the first responders, who with their quick and careful intervention saved the elderly woman from the greatest danger to her life. (HJF)
