From next Monday, corona vaccinations will take place in specialist practices in Hamburg. That said the head of the Hamburg Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians, Walter Plassman, in the Hamburg Journal.
It starts at the beginning of next week in the specialist practices for dialysis patients. The oncology practices are next, before it is the turn of the patients with lung diseases.
The current decision by the Hamburg social authority is a surprise. So far it has always been said that the doctor’s offices could not start vaccinating until mid-April. So now it should go much faster. The reason: The two vaccination appointments with the active ingredient from Biontech / Pfizer can now be six weeks apart – and no longer three weeks as before.
30,000 vacated appointments
As a result, 30,000 vaccination appointments in Hamburg became available at short notice. “That’s a tough pick on the shelf,” said Plassmann in the Hamburg Journal. At the end of March or mid-April, he hopes, enough vaccine should be available so that the medical practices – also here in Hamburg – can really get down to work.
