Germany has an area of 357,588 square kilometers – and is therefore significantly smaller than the USA, which is clearly “superior” to the Federal Republic in terms of area with 9,525,067 square kilometers.
Four of the 50 US states are even larger than the Federal Republic of Germany in terms of area – none, twelve or all. These are Alaska (1,717,854 km²), Texas (695,621 km²), California (423,970 km²) and Montana (380,838 km²).

It consists of 50 states and one federal district (the capital, Washington DC). According to the 2020 census, the population of the United States is 331,449,281.
For comparison: The Federal Republic of Germany, founded in 1949, has consisted of 16 federal states since 1990 and is a free, democratic and social constitutional state. The population of Germany is 83,129,285. With 232 inhabitants per square kilometre, today’s Germany is one of the densely populated area states.
