Moskvich with German optics was nearly exported.
Motorists know that there were a great many design options for the front of the Moskvich-412 model, which was produced both at the Izhevsk Automobile Plant and at the AZLK plant. A feature of one of them was rare rectangular headlights from the GDR, which were put on separate small batches of the 412th Izhevsk production from the 70s to the beginning of the 80s.
One such rare Izhevsk “Moskvich-412” color “Flora” in the “ideal” was found in the city of Glazov. The owner bought a car in Izhevsk 6 years ago: the Moskvich of 1981, equipped with a 75-horsepower 1.5-liter gas engine, attracted him with a bright green body and an unusual “front end”. In addition, the car is really remarkably preserved as it was for its age: all the parts are dear, the whole body, no rust, sills and arches are processed, the suspension is like new. It turned out that the former owner, an elderly man, used to be an employee of the Izhevsk plant, so he knew how to handle the Moskvichs properly and keep the car in good shape.
Of course, in some places the Moskvich-412 had to be tinted and polished, since in some places the colors had faded a bit, as well as slightly refined and cleaned the interior – and the brainchild of the Izhevsk Automobile Plant began to look like the car had just left the assembly line. And the most amazing thing is that Moskvich was completely on the go, except for minor problems with the carburetor.
It is interesting that this instance of Moskvich-412 was supposed to be exported abroad, but the car was rejected because the required stamp did not appear in the rear left sub-jack. So the “Moskvich” was considered defective, and given to the employee of the plant, who volunteered to buy this car “by pull”.
Motorists are impressed by the “Green Phoenix” – the owner gave such a nickname to “Muscovite”. “The best car of the USSR”, “Beloved Moskvich of favorite color”, “The car is just a gift” – this Izhevsk copy of Moskvich-412 was awarded such praise.
