So far, there are no appointments of new regional governors for Sofia-city, Varna, Dobrich and Silistra. There, the posts will be temporarily taken over by the current deputy managers.

The Prime Minister Stefan Yanev has instructed the new regional governors that they must guarantee the fairness of the July 11 vote and fight against vote buying, Kutev explained.

12 of the newly appointed 24 regional governors are former police officers or army officers, but the Ministry of the Interior predominates.
