Former Irish Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has said it is “too early” to rule out a possible Fianna Fáil-Sinn Féin coalition in future elections. Ahern, who recently rejoined Fianna Fáil, refused to confirm whether he would stand for president but commented that the Irish public would be the ultimate decider. Speaking on the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday agreement, which he played a key role in creating, Ahern praised the involvement of all sides and paid tribute to former US Senator George Mitchell, who is currently unwell. During the Late Late Show interview, Ahern also praised incoming US President Joe Biden’s interest in Northern Ireland and his visit to the country.
