Foreign National Rampages and Commits Violence in North Jakarta Apartment

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A foreign national (foreigner) from Nigeria, Augustus Nwambara (32), rampaged on the 20th floor of an apartment in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta on Friday (5/5/2023) at 18.30 WIB.

The incident of this alleged crime was confirmed by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Jakarta Metro Police AKBP Iverson Manossoh.

“That it is true that there was an incident of sharp gun violence, which occurred in an Gading Nias apartment, in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta,” Iverson said when met at the North Jakarta Metro Police, Saturday (6/5/2023).

“The incident was that a Nigerian foreigner committed sharp weapon violence against two mothers. One victim was 55 years old, the other victim was 58 years old,” he continued.

Iverson said that the incident started when the victim N (55) suddenly heard a commotion not far from his residence.

Hearing a loud crash, N tried to get closer because he wanted to know what was going on.

“When approaching the perpetrator’s position, for no reason, the perpetrator suddenly attacked the first victim, there was physical violence against the first victim,” said Iverson.

Then RD (58) whose house is not far from N wanted to help because he experienced violence from Augustus Nwambara.

“But they also experienced sharp weapon violence, suffered stab wounds in several parts of the body. There were arms, there was a back and several stab wounds on other parts of the body,” said Iverson.

After this incident, the local police and security officers came to the crime scene (TKP) to evacuate the victim to the hospital.

“The team immediately secured the perpetrators and are currently still in the process of examination. If today’s evidence is optimal, there is sufficient evidence, then we will make an arrest,” said Iverson.
