Fishermen stabbed in their sleep near Beekse Bergen in Hilvarenbeek

Last night, two fishermen from Haaren were stabbed along the canal at safari park Beekse Bergen in Hilvarenbeek. They have been taken to hospital. Due to the seriousness of the situation, two ambulances and a trauma helicopter were called in.

The stabbing was at 1.45 am. According to one witness, the fishermen in their tent were caught off guard when they were sleeping. The fishermen said they were stabbed by two men and two women with a broken bottle. A police spokesman said against Broadcasting Brabant that the two fishermen have serious stab wounds.

Gutted

One of the fishermen would have been hit out of nowhere with a bottle. The other fisherman woke up and came to the rescue. Then they were both beaten multiple times with the broken bottle. A witness saw the four suspects run away and get into a white boat with an outboard motor.

The boat sailed away in the direction of Tilburg. A pool float hung behind the boat.

The four suspects are believed to be between 18 and 22 years old and a witness said they spoke Dutch.
