Firefighters Union Challenges Municipal Vaccination Mandate

The latest battle by some city firefighters is against the municipal vaccination mandate.

Firefighters union leaders said they are in talks with lawyers to file a civil rights lawsuit against the city government.

Firefighters say that Mayor Adams should end the vaccination order for all municipal employees, after announcing an exception for athletes and artists.

Some 400 to 500 firefighters could be fired for not having been inoculated.

The union says 15 members have been sacked since the mandate went into effect.

The Municipality pointed out that 95% of FDNY members have at least one dose of the vaccine.
