After Nomadland with four frames, a field of 5 films followed, each of which could drive in two frames: The Father, Promising Young Woman, Soul, Sound of Metal on Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. The latter film won in the best costumes and best make-up categories. The recently passed away Chadwick Boseman who was nominated as best actor for this film was thus not honored posthumously, as many expected.
