There was an unusual sight after the match Juventus vs Genoa of A league. Cristiano Ronaldo looks annoyed, takes off the jersey, and throws it on the ground. What is wrong?
At Allianz Stadium, Sunday (11/4/2021), the Bianconeri managed to win 3-1, but Ronaldo failed to get his name on the scoreboard. Three Juventus goals were born from the feet of Dejan Kulusevski, Alvaro Morata and Weston McKennie. The Genoa goal was created by Gianluca Scamacca’s header.
Ronaldo played the full game in this match, and became the player who fired the most shots, namely 6 times. There are at least 2 shots on target that Genoa goalkeeper Mattia Perin can secure.
But the most stifling thing happened in the 22nd minute. Starting from Chiesa’s kick which was pushed over by Perin, the ball vomited up at Ronaldo’s feet. He kicked it into an empty net, but hit the post. Luckily, the wild ball was successfully controlled by Morata which finally finished it into a goal.
Failure to score goals throughout the match seemed to make Ronaldo pissed off. After the long whistle, not far from the Genoa goal, he was seen removing his jersey and throwing it to the ground. A ball boy then took it.
Asked about this, coach Juventus Andrea Pirlo do not care about the situation. For him, it was just an expression of Ronaldo’s disappointment. There are also allegations that Ronaldo really wanted to give his jersey to the ball boy.
“It’s normal if he (Ronaldo) wants to score goals, especially when the game is difficult. He is a champion and always wants to make achievements,” Pirlo told Sky Sport Italia.
This incident made the public remember what happened at the end of March. In the 2022 World Cup qualifier against Serbia, it was Ronaldo who defended Portugal had scored a goal, but the referee didn’t approve it.
Reruns showed Ronaldo’s kick had entered the goal before being swept out by Stefan Mitrovic, but because there was no goal-line technology (GLT) or video assistant referee (VAR), the referee who didn’t see it clearly did not consider it a goal.
Match ends 2-2 and Ronaldo the annoyed left the field throwing his captain’s armband on the ground.
