JawaPos.com – Sony Indonesia officially introduces the FE 35mm F1.4 GM lens (model SEL35F14GM). The lens is the latest addition to Sony’s flagship G Master full-frame lens series which is claimed to provide high-end image quality and beautiful bokeh for a lens with a compact and lightweight design.
Kazuteru Makiyama, President Director of PT Sony Indonesia said that the FE 35mm F1.4 GM lens is a must-have lens for Sony E-mount camera users, especially users of full-frame mirrorless cameras and the Cinema Line lineup.
“This is because when combined with a Sony camera body, this lens can produce advanced focusing capabilities that are perfect for a variety of applications, such as shooting landscapes, portraits and street photography, both still and video,” said Makiyama.
He continued, with excellent resolution and smart focus technology, wrapped in a small and lightweight design, the FE 35mm F1.4 GM is an essential lens that will not reduce image quality. This new Sony lens is said to bring the leading optical design to Sony’s manufacturing technology.
In dimensions, this lens comes with a weight of only 524 grams, this lens has a diameter of 76 mm x 96 mm with a filter diameter of 67 mm. Then, two XA (extreme aspherical) elements can effectively maintain excellent resolution throughout the image area.
As for the technicalities, the FE 35mm F1.4 GM lens is said to be capable of producing an almost circular aperture thanks to its 11-blade construction, a quality level that is rare for a mobile lens. Carefully crafted circular aberration controls at the design and production stages contribute to beautiful G Master bokeh, making subjects really stand out.
The lens also features two innovative XA elements which allow the user to take close-up images against a soft, creamy bokeh background. The combination of the maximum aperture of F1.4 and the flexibility to choose the perfect shooting distance (minimum focusing distance of 27 cm with maximum magnification of 0.23 x in autofocus mode), enables outstanding control and beautiful bokeh when shooting stills and video recording.
Then, there are Sony’s two XD (extreme dynamic) linear motors that are said to provide the high thrust efficiency needed for precise AF (autofocus) and tracking, providing outstanding resolution results at any distance.
The advanced control algorithm developed specifically for the XD linear motor improves control response and precision, while minimizing vibration and noise for fast, smooth and quiet Auto Focus (AF) performance. Advanced focusing can also be achieved when shooting at high frame rates.
In addition, Linear Response Manual Focus (MF) is also said to be ideal for creative focusing effects when recording video, as this technology can ensure the focus ring responds to fine control during manual focusing. Focus ring rotation can instantly translate into appropriate focus changes, so users can experience fast and precise control.
For price and availability, Sony Indonesia said that the FE 35mm F1.4 GM lens will soon be available in Indonesia starting in February 2021 at a price of IDR 22,999,000. Pre-order orders can be made from January 21 to February 7, 2021 at all Sony Authorized Dealers and offline stores.
