The Federal Agency for Investigation and Intelligence in Miami (FBI, for its acronym in English) offers a reward of $ 5,000 in exchange for information on Yoelvis Denis Hernández, a fugitive wanted on the charge of theft of ventilators that were destined for El Salvador.

According to what the Miami FBI, quoted on his Twitter account on Friday and Saturday, Hernández is from Dade County, Florida.

Previously, the Agency had reported that the ventilators, worth $ 3 million, which were stolen around August 8, were recovered on the 20th of the same month, in the southeast of that county.

A note published yesterday by the newspaper El Mundo details that Yoelvis Denis Hernández is a resident of Dade County, is 42 years old, and has ties to Cuba. According to the investigation, Hernández could be in Florida.

The authorities indicated that Hernández had already been arrested and was awaiting trial in freedom.

At the time of the theft, the ventilators were sent by the United States Agency for Development (USAID), an office that also offers, separately, another $ 5,000 for information.

El Salvador received 189 mechanical fans on September 1 that are part of the batch of 191 devices that was stolen and later recovered in Miami.

“These 189 are of the 192 ventilators recovered by the authorities in Miami. They passed a rigorous review and it was determined that they are in perfect condition ”, said that day the ambassador Ronald Johnson via Twitter.

The diplomat pointed out that the other three devices that make up the batch were damaged, and that they will be replaced in the coming days.
