French police have arrested a man in the Paris area in France on Tuesday. He is suspected of having killed his four children and their mother.

The five were found dead in their apartment in the town of Meaux, east of Paris, on Christmas Day, according to French police.

The man, who is also in his 30s, was arrested according to the police after an intense police chase near the town of Sevran.

He is said to have been investigated for domestic violence in 2019, but was acquitted.

According to AFP, there have been several brutal child murders in the Paris region in recent months.
In November, a man in his 40s admitted to having killed his three daughters. They were from four to eleven years old.
They were found dead in their home by police in the town of Alfortville, which is southeast of Paris.
In October, a policeman also killed his three daughters in his home in Vemars, which is north-east of Paris. The man also took his own life.
