The farmers have been at Syntagma since 14:00 with the first tractors having “lined up” in front of the Parliament, ahead of the pan-agrarian rally at 18:30 on Tuesday afternoon.

In total, it is estimated that more than 120 tractors will arrive in the center of the capital. At the same time, thousands of farmers from all over the territory arrive in Athens by bus and car. to participate in the rally.

The tractors located in Syntagma had earlier passed through Karaiskaki Square, while the farmers from the convoys that started in the morning from the Peloponnese are also arriving in the center of Athens.

“Due to the movement of the farmers towards the center of Athens, we inform you that within the next hour the Traffic will additionally apply traffic regulations in order to safely carry out both the movement of the farmers and the movement of the rest of the citizens in the area”, he points out with news the Traffic Police informed her.

Farmers have parked their tractors on the sidewalk across from the monument to the Unknown Soldier. The presence of police forces is strong, while emergency traffic measures are in force for the center of Athens.

Traffic regulations

Due to the passage of tractors on Athens Avenue, there are interruptions on the vertical streets. Traffic is conducted for the rest of the vehicles from the left lane of the Avenue.

Traffic regulations are also expected on Deligiorgi, Piraeus, Stadiou, Filellinon and Xenophontos streets.

ELAS will proceed during the day with vehicle traffic modifications, with:

  • temporary stoppage of traffic on Athens Avenue, Achilleos, Karaiskaki square
  • opposite traffic flow of tractors on Agios Konstantinou Street, Omonoia Square and Panetisopitu to the Syntagma
  • temporary stoppage of traffic around Omonia square
  • traffic stop on Amalia Avenue, Panepistimiou Avenue, Vasilissis Sofia Avenue and all perpendicular streets
  • traffic stop on Vasilissis Sofias Avenue from the height of the Parliament (flow of the descent to Sekeri)
  • traffic flow from the Academy only to the rise of the Empress Sophia

Corresponding modifications based on the above will be made to the routes operated by buses and trolleys on these streets and avenues.

The subway, electric and tram trains have not been announced until Tuesday morning that they will be affected and will run normally.
