NEW YORK – A Mexican family man lost his life after being hit by a truck Thursday morning in Queens.
The tragedy occurred when the victim, Alfredo Cabrera, 35, was on his skateboard on the bicycle route and the truck made a turn that fatally impacted him, the police announced.
According to the report, the responsible driver remained at the scene and it is not yet known if he has been charged.
Cabrera’s family held a vigil for him with dozens of people Friday night at the place where he lost his life, at the corner of Crescent Street and Astoria Boulevard.
The case remains under investigation.
