fake police officer arrested after attestation control scam

A person was arrested and placed in police custody on Friday after pretending to be a policeman. The respondent had carried out a check
travel certificate fake in Saint-Pol-sur-Mer,
close to Dunkirk, in the North, thus extirpating 900 euros from his victim, we learned from a police source.

As of Friday evening, the bogus police officer checked someone on the highway “to verify that they were in good standing” as part of the containment process, police said. The victim “did not have his certificate and was therefore not surprised when this police officer told him that she was going to be the subject of a report,” added our source.

The bogus police officer “then tells her that she can settle the ticket directly”, but since the victim has no money on her, “they go to her home to get her bank card, then to a distributor.”

It was when the false police officer “took 900 euros in cash with his card that the person realized that he was not a police officer”. There was an “exchange of blows” before “the author fled with the 900 euros”. The victim then reported the facts to the police, who were able to arrest the author in the process.

The man, who would not have scammed other people, is summoned to court in Dunkirk in September for “use of false quality” and “extortion with violence”.
