Faced with the fear of a second wave, the President of the Republic notably announced that the wearing of the mask would be “Mandatory in all enclosed public places” from 1is August, reporting “Of signs” showing that the spread of the virus “Leave a little”.
But, beyond the health situation, the “New path” that he presented will first of all go through a massive plan of“At least 100 billion euros” to revive the economy, which is to be presented by the government in early September. This sum – intended to boost “An industrial, ecological, local, cultural and educational revival” of the country – comes on top of the 460 billion already committed in sectoral and support measures.
His doctrine of “Whatever it costs”, pronounced at the beginning of March, therefore remains relevant. “This effort continues”, said the President of the Republic. “State intervention in the economy is not over, with a strong impact on public accounts”, underlines his entourage. These devices will notably be financed by European aid, within the framework of the 500 billion euros plan that Emmanuel Macron will defend at the European Council on Thursday and Friday.

With a battle erected as a priority: that of employment. “We are going to have a massive increase in unemployment”, alerted the former Minister of the Economy, citing “Between 800,000 and a million more unemployed by the spring of 2021”. To limit the impact of the wave of social plans expected for the start of the school year, he announced an arsenal of measures, mainly aimed at young people.
Beyond the existing learning support system, there are “New mechanisms” such as the implementation of a measure of exemption from charges for young people, in order to encourage the hiring of employees at “Low qualifications, up to 1.6 times the minimum wage”. The creation of 300,000 integration contracts and 100,000 additional places in civic service is also planned. “Our youth should be the priority of this revival”said Emmanuel Macron, insisting “That we asked the biggest effort” to this category during containment.
