Leonardo Bonucci uncover Italy appear full of pressure and without joy after winning Euro 2020. This makes them fail to pass directly to 2022 World Cup.
Italy was held 0-0 at the headquarters of Northern Ireland, Windsor Park, Belfast, in the 2022 World Cup Qualification Group C match, Tuesday (16/11/2021) early morning WIB. This result makes Gli Azzurri fail to qualify directly for the 2022 World Cup.
This happened because Italy only finished second in Group C with 16 points. Their position at the top of the standings was taken over by Switzerland which in the last group game won 4-0 from Bulgaria.
Switzerland are at the top of Group C with 18 points and qualify for Qatar. Meanwhile, Italy still has to fight in the round play-off uto catch up with Switzerland.
Italy’s performance did drop dramatically after winning the 2020 European Cup. They were only able to win once out of the seven matches they had played.

According to him, playing carefree and full of joy is the key for Italy to win the 2022 European Cup. Bonucci wants Italy to be able to return to appear full of joy in the play-off match which will be held in March 2022.
“My thoughts are only for March. Nothing more can be done, just look at March with a difficult first game and three days later,” Bonucci told RAI Sport.
