The European Football Union (UEFA) has invited Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen and medics who saved his life after the collapse at the start of the European Championship to the finals of the tournament. Sunday’s title match will be hosted by London’s Wembley. The Danes will fight for the participation in the final on Wednesday against the English national team.

In addition to Eriksen, who suffered a cardiac arrest in the match against Finland, there are also six paramedics from Copenhagen among the VIP guests. “I’m excited about it, as a child at Christmas. I’m proud of my work, but also of our whole team. It’s not about one person,” one of the rescuers, Peder Ersgaard, told Fagbladet FOA.
It is not yet known whether Eriksen will also use the invitation of UEFA President Alexander Čeferin. The 29-year-old Inter Milan midfielder was operated by doctors on a cardioverter-defibrillator, which monitors the heart, and has been recovering at home for over two weeks.
