In connection with the recently introduced COVID-19 vaccine export approval system by the European Union, Bloomberg said it has approved 27 exports so far.
The Commission, an EU administration, said it had approved all applications for export of the COVID-19 vaccine so far.
The EU Commission said last week it approved shipments of four vaccines to Canada, Japan and the UK, followed by an additional 23 vaccine exports.
Recent approvals included exports of vaccines to Australia, China, Mexico, New Zealand, Oman and Saudi Arabia.
As concerns over the shortage of COVID-19 vaccine supply and slow vaccination rate in the region grew, the EU introduced a system that requires pharmaceutical companies to obtain approval from member states when exporting the COVID-19 vaccine produced in the EU to outside the region from the 30th of last month.
Pharmaceutical companies must inform member countries of their new export plans in advance and provide information on export targets and quantities.
If the established standards are not met, member states may block exports.
