Emmendingen: Companies open their doors to students: 4th Emmendinger Night of Training – Innovative offer on Friday, September 30, 2022, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. – Bringing jobs closer and making them tangible! – Companies can still register until August 1st

As part of a press conference this Tuesday afternoon, the 4th Emmendingen Training Night was presented on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 3 to 9 p.m. in the town hall.

Due to the demographic development, companies will have to compete for an ever smaller number of skilled and junior staff in the future. Only those who are creative, have the courage to break new ground and present themselves as attractive employers have a good chance in the competition for the best applicants.

On the evening, companies open their doors to students who are about to choose a career. These can travel by shuttle bus from one company to the next.
The companies present themselves, “show” their jobs and present all the apprenticeships and courses on offer. Job profiles and activities from professional practice are demonstrated.

Aim: Bring jobs closer and make them tangible

The aim of the Emmendinger Nacht is for companies to bring jobs closer to young people and make them tangible. The young people should get as precise an idea as possible of what to expect in the chosen apprenticeship, what demands are placed on them and what further training opportunities exist.
The city of Emmendingen also offers a wide variety of different apprenticeships, which it presents at the Emmendingen Night of Education.

Review: Numerous training and internship requests!

The first three training nights were already very successful and were well received by both the students and the companies. Numerous requests for training and internships shortly after the event showed that the “Night of Training” is the right place to present yourself as a training company.

Around 800 young people used the second “Night of Training” in 2018 to find out more about 75 different training and study programs at the dual universities in 28 companies, to get advice and also to be entertained. The companies all went out of their way to attract potential new employees and offered competitions, photo shoots and skill courses, for example. The concluding workshop party was also very well received.

With the “Night of Training” we would like to show the graduating students what interesting opportunities and paths are open to them after school in the Emmendingen companies. The young people should get an insight into their future professional life in order to support them in their search for the right job.
We would like to help ensure that the companies in Emmendingen are and remain sustainable and are pleased to be able to offer an event with the “Night of Training” that makes it easier for students and companies to get in touch.

The program

3 – 4 p.m. “Etiquette for trainees” – workshop in the town hall on modern
Manners for prospective trainees
4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Companies open their doors
8 – 9 p.m. “Workshop Party” at the Schmolck company

Pupils receive a confirmation of participation, which they can enclose with later applications.

There is also a raffle with attractive prizes.

Program/campaigns at the participating companies are planned individually by them, e.g
– Information from trainees and employees
– Presentation of tasks and jobs
– practical exercises, speed dating…

At the moment 27 companies, authorities and organizations are at the start. We would be very happy if we could win even more companies. Registration is possible until Monday, August 1st (contact: Julian Finkbeiner, City of Emmendingen, Tel. 07641 452-1030 or [email protected]).

Flyers, posters, website www.emmendinger-nacht-der-bildung.de, this will be updated in July.
After the summer holidays, flyers will be distributed in the schools and trainees from the participating companies will visit the schools to present the EM “Night of Training” there.

– Dispelling prejudices about supposedly “unattractive” jobs
– smaller companies are perceived as potential employers
– The team spirit in the company is strengthened by preparing for the EM “Night of Training”.
– Apprentices contribute their ideas. In the first year of the event, Schmolck even created its own trainee brand “Schmolck your life” and shot a trainee film.
