There have been some minor personnel changes at Larian Studios. GI.biz reported that Emily Gera, who has been working as a product manager since 2021, has taken over the position of senior scriptwriter for the studio. As it turned out, this happened at the end of December:
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been promoted to Senior Writer at Larian Studios! Now I’ll work on the narrative while maintaining my cold, unbreakable grip on releasing community updates, weird cartoons, and other nonsense. An absolute dream.
On official website Emily describes herself as “a games journalist specializing in virtual worlds, interactive AI, and storytelling in simulated spaces.” Since 2008, she has written news and gaming articles for publications such as Eurogamer, The Guardian, Edge Magazine, Rock Paper Shotgun and VideoGamer.
Judging by her biography, Emily has never worked on scripts before. In her articles, in addition to VR, AI and eSports coverage, she also raised issues of inclusivity and the low number of women in the industry.
