Emergency Shelter for Motorbike Riders on Malaysian Toll Roads

Jakarta

The Malaysian government allows motorbike users to access freeways, aka toll roads. Toll roads, which are typically high-speed and have minimal rest areas, are of course a challenge for motorists. For example, if the weather conditions are rainy, where do you take shelter?

Motorcyclists in Malaysia have more privileges because they can access toll roads with four-wheeled vehicles, trucks or buses. What’s more, motorbike riders can access toll roads in Malaysia for free.

What if an emergency occurs on the toll road, such as when it rains? Well, the Malaysian government has apparently prepared shelter for motorbike riders. This shelter is located under the flyover or overpass. Oh, isn’t that dangerous?

In order to remain safe for other drivers, the Malaysian government has regulated it in such a way. First, from the aspect of signs, the government in Malaysia provides signs indicating that motorists may stop under the flyover during rainy conditions.

These signs are in the form of two pictures, the first is an image of an umbrella and the second is an image of a motorist. After these signs are in place, not far from there there will usually be a shelter under the bridge.

The shelter under the flyover is arranged in such a way that it does not eat up the main road. The trick, in the road divider is given a gap so that motorbikes can enter. After entering the gap, motorists can take shelter when it rains. The place is not too big, but enough to accommodate several motorbikes.

Of course, this emergency shelter cannot be found all the time. But at least this facility can help motorbike riders when facing a rainy situation to take shelter for a while to wear a coat.
