Two men have been arrested in the case in which the Surinamese customs authorities intercepted drugs in the door locking bars of containers. The men, aged 33 and 32, work for an import and export company in Suriname.

The men are said to have been arrested in Saramacca a day after the interception. Research will have to show what their part in the case is.

The drugs that were released on Monday afternoon, August 2, at the Jules Sedney Nieuwe Haven complex were intercepted, were in door lock bars of empty containers. The Suriname Police Force has announced this.

Each container is fitted with four locking bars. Cocaine was found in 64 door-locking bars of containers. It is not yet known how much cocaine is involved.

The rods were thrown loose and confiscated by the customs detectives, in collaboration with narcotics detectives and the firefighters, reports the Surinamese police.
