Emergency ordinance promulgated in parts of Roosendaal due to fireworks nuisance | NOW

Mayor Han van Midden announced an emergency ordinance for parts of the municipality of Roosendaal on Wednesday due to the disturbances in recent days in which troublemakers set off heavy fireworks and set fire to.

The emergency ordinance applies to the Kalsdonk, Kroeven, Langdonk and Westrand districts. People who have no business in those neighborhoods are not allowed into the neighborhoods.

It is also prohibited in those neighborhoods to carry fireworks or objects that can be used as weapons. This concerns, for example, Molotov cocktails, glassware, stones, sticks and chains, reports the West Brabant municipality.

The emergency ordinance applies for at least two weeks. Violation can result in imprisonment of up to three months or a fine of up to 4,350 euros.

Mayor Van Midden announced one on Tuesday prohibition of gathering together off, prohibiting groups of three or more people. On Wednesday evening, a total of six people were arrested for not complying with that ban.
