The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has condemned illegal elections in South Ossetia, a region of Georgia occupied by Russia. The Foreign Ministry noted that tough sanctions against Moscow would allow Tbilisi to restore the country’s territorial integrity.

“We condemn Russia for organizing illegal elections in the occupied territories of Georgia. They will not have legal consequences,” the message says.
The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that tough sanctions against Russia and their strict implementation will help in restoring the territorial integrity of both Georgia and Ukraine.
Today in the unrecognized South Ossetia elections of the so-called “president” were held.
