The National Civil Police (PNC) reported a traffic accident that left an elderly man dead.
The road accident occurred at kilometer 49 of the highway that leads from San Salvador to Sonsonate, near the La Joya canton.
According to preliminary reports, the accident happened when the older adult was trying to cross the street, so he was run over and lost his life due to the impact.
In addition, the PNC reported that the person responsible for the accident fled the scene, however, police officers were activated to search the area and find the whereabouts.
