Egyptian Actress Launches Attack on Real Estate Owners Who Refuse to Display “Lived Here” Signs on Artists’ Homes

The Egyptian actress, Samah Anwar, launched a sharp attack on the real estate owners who refused to put up “lived here” signs on the old homes of the late artists, which were approved by the Ministry of Culture in appreciation of famous art, media and literature.

And Samah Anwar appeared in a live broadcast on her Facebook account, during which she spoke excitedly about the position of the real estate owner in which her father, the scriptwriter Anwar Abdullah, and her mother, the artist Souad Hussein, lived, explaining that when the representative of the Ministry of Culture went to put up the sign, the real estate owner refused, and told him that he would destroy it if he cum.

She pointed out that the same thing happened in the old house of the artist Shadia, and the owner did not allow the banner to be placed, which the artist considered disrespectful to art, and as a deliberate insult to them.

Samah Anwar confirmed that she will file an official complaint because of this, on behalf of all the children of Egyptian artists, and she will not let the matter go unnoticed, nor will she allow insulting the Egyptian artistic icons, and refuse to appreciate and honor them in this way, pointing to her support for the Ministry of Culture and the initiative it launched to honor the icons.

The “Live Here” initiative is one of the initiatives launched by the Ministry of Culture to preserve the Egyptian identity, as it is supervised by the National Organization for Cultural Coordination, by placing hundreds of metal signs bearing the phrase “He lived here” on the homes of many celebrities and historical public figures in Egypt.
