The main objective of the association of tenants of Clos des Arts de Yutz and the Amicale des Berges de la Moselle de Thionville is to defend the rights and interests of tenants with the social landlord Vilogia.
“In this period of complicated health crisis, and after many discussions, it seemed essential to equip each of the tenants, whether they are members or not, in masks and thus allow them to limit the risks of contamination”, explains thus Séverine Haag. “Consequently, when the General Confederation of Housing in Paris contacted us on April 23, 2020 in order to participate in the project:” A mask for all tenants “, it was obvious for us to respond favorably to this proposal, all the more that CGL Paris had all the structure necessary to carry out this project. “
In doing so, on May 5, 10,660 masks for France, including 350 masks for Yutz and Thionville, washable fifteen times and meeting Afnor standards, were ordered from the textile company Prestma, located in the Paris region. . The ten-day delivery deadline was respected, allowing the two local associations to equip all their residents by May 17 at the latest, which represents a success given the supply difficulties encountered by many.
“In addition, these masks were funded through an allocation reserved for community projects. As a result, no resident paid the least euro for the making and delivery of their mask, “said Séverine Haag.
Through this action, these two associations conveyed the values of humanity and solidarity advocated by Abbé Pierre, founding father of the CGL in 1954. An operation which could also inspire other local or national organizations.
