Earn Rp 1.77 Billion from GJTL Dividend, This Is What Lo Kheng Hong Will Do

KONTAN.CO.ID – JAKARTA. PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk will use part of its 2020 profits as cash dividends to be distributed to its shareholders, including veteran investor Lo Kheng Hong.

Understandably, Lo Kheng Hong is listed as a shareholder of GJTL. In fact, the investor who is often nicknamed Warren Buffett Indonesia is the largest individual shareholder in Gajah Tunggal.

As of 18 August 2021, Lo Kheng Hong controlled 177,712,400 GJTL shares. This amount represents 5.10% of the total shares of GJTL.

On August 19, the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) of Gajah Tunggal decided to distribute cash dividends of Rp. 34.848 billion or equivalent to Rp. 10 per share.

By using the calculation of today’s closing price, Monday (23/8), at IDR 760 per share, the yield aka yield dividen GJTL shares of 1.3%.

Shareholders who are entitled to the cash dividend are those who are registered in the register of shareholders (DSP) on August 31, 2021 until 16.15 WIB. Dividend payments will be made starting September 17, 2021.

If Lo Kheng Hong’s ownership of GJTL shares does not change until the cum dividend date, Lo Kheng Hong has the potential to reap dividends of Rp 1.77 billion.

So, you might be curious what the GJTL dividend proceeds will be used for?

Lo Kheng Hong said that the GJTL dividend money would definitely be used to buy more shares. “If you put money in the bank, the interest is small,” said Lo Kheng Hong.

Then, what stock will Lo Kheng Hong buy? “Stocks in the banking sector and commodities such as oil palm and coal plantations,” said Lo Kheng Hong.
