Two more people died, bringing the death toll to 289


The number of Düsseldorf residents who currently tested positive for the corona virus was 17,485 on Tuesday (9 March), which is 12 higher than the day before. The so-called 7-day incidence (number of new cases in the past 7 days per 100,000 inhabitants) is currently 51.8 (52.3) in Düsseldorf. The previous day’s numbers in brackets.

As of Monday evening (March 8), the total number of people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in Düsseldorf since March 3, 2020 is 17,485 (+12). Around 520 people in Düsseldorf are infected with this. 89 people are currently being treated in hospitals, 19 of them in intensive care units. So far 289 (+2) sick people have died.

Tests

The mobile teams took 25 swabs on Sunday (March 8th). The diagnostic centers at the Mitsubishi Electric Hall are closed on Sundays. Since March 4, 2020, 106,769 smears have been taken via the diagnostic centers.

Appointments for tests

Anyone who lives or works in Düsseldorf and shows symptoms such as dry cough, sore throat, shortness of breath or fever can be tested. In addition, current contact persons in Category I and persons who have been advised of an increased risk by the Corona warning app can be deleted. For this it is necessary to make an appointment beforehand on the Corona information phone at 0211-8996090. Further tests are also arranged by the resident doctors or in the test centers of the laboratories. Also new are various offers for rapid tests, for which appointments can be booked online.

Advice and information

The Corona hotline can be reached Monday to Friday from 7.30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The city recommends calling outside of peak hours during the week between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. There is no advice on Sundays and public holidays.

Vaccinations

The city of Düsseldorf started the first vaccinations on December 27th. Since then, residents and nursing home staff have been vaccinated by a mobile team. On Sunday (March 7th) another 1,866 vaccinations were reported. Since December 27, 2020, 60,137 vaccine doses have been administered in Düsseldorf, 19,506 of them as a second vaccination.
The start of vaccinations at the vaccination center was on February 8th. The staff of clinics and those already entitled to vaccinate in Group 2 receive information about a possible vaccination at their workplaces. No vaccination capacities are currently available for all other Düsseldorf residents
