A very drunk man attacked his partner and her daughter in Vienna on Saturday evening. First, the 32-year-old Romanian is said to have strangled the 28-year-old daughter and then tried to throw her out of the window on the second floor. The 50-year-old rushed to help her daughter. Both were slightly injured.
The 32-year-old was arrested by the police. He had 1.94 per mille of alcohol in his blood. An interrogation was not yet possible, the police reported yesterday. Another attack on a woman occurred Saturday evening in Lower Austria. A couple got into an argument in Klosterneuburg, whereupon the 62-year-old husband picked up the knife and attacked his 65-year-old wife. The man is said to have stabbed his wife twice in the back with a kitchen knife with a twelve centimeter long blade. He was arrested by police at the scene.
The 65-year-old wife was seriously injured and taken to a Vienna hospital. The police said yesterday that her life was out of danger.
