Drunk driver in Tilburg calls a drunk girlfriend for a lift after arrest | NOW

In the night from Saturday to Sunday, the police arrested a 21-year-old woman in Tilburg for drunk driving. Because she had to turn in her driver’s license, she called a friend for a ride. However, upon arrival, this friend turned out to be “shaky on her feet” and to have drunk too much, according to the law enforcement.

The 21-year-old driver from Oosterhout was taken off the road because an officer found her driving behavior striking. She lurched across the road and hit the bushes next to the road several times with the right exterior mirror of her vehicle.

While stopping the driver, the officer on duty smelled a heavy odor of alcohol in the car, which also contained a co-driver. The driver had to blow and blew up to four times the amount of alcohol allowed for a novice driver.

The woman had to hand in her driver’s license and arrange replacement transport. For this she called a friend. But once this 22-year-old woman from Rijen arrived and got out of the car, she was shaky on her legs, according to the officer.

This woman also had to take an alcohol test. She blew more than twice the allowable amount.

Both women received a report for drunk driving.
