Driver trapped in burning car dies after crashing into high school in Staten Island – NBC New York (47)

A car accident at a New York City high school claimed the life of a driver Tuesday night, according to police.

The authorities indicated that the driver of a Dodge Challenger 2020 He was heading south for Manor Road on Staten Island at high speed, around 11:30 pm, when he lost control and crashed into the wall of Susan E. Wagner High School. The vehicle rolled over and caught fire, police said.

After firefighters arrived and extinguished the car fire, first responders removed the lifeless driver. The forensic doctor will have to confirm the identity of the man, police said.

Meanwhile, the Buildings Department said there was no significant damage to the school building.

The New York City Police Department Highway District Collision Investigation Team is investigating the cause of the accident. No other information was immediately available.
