A cyclist died in an accident with a fleeing crime in Arendonk. According to eyewitnesses, the driver got out to look at the victim. The victim, a young man of 32, died instantly. “The perpetrator has since been imprisoned in the Netherlands,” said Kristof Hendrickx (N-VA), the mayor of Arendonk.

The accident occurred in De Valken, near the center of Arendonk. The cyclist rode on the right-hand side of the track. The driver of a black SUV came from the opposite direction. For an unknown reason, he deviated from his lane and then scooped up the cyclist.
“Eyewitnesses have seen how the driver stopped after the accident and got out after the accident,” says Mayor Hendrickx. “He looked at the victim for a moment, but then drove on immediately. There were many witnesses and thanks to their descriptions, the police knew fairly quickly which vehicle was involved and who the driver is. ” An investigating judge has been requested to settle a European arrest warrant.
“Victim was active in club life”
The traffic expert is on site to investigate the circumstances of the accident, but the debris on the track indicates a huge blow. Even according to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was severely damaged. Not much is known about the victim. “It’s a 32-year-old man,” the mayor says. “He was certainly no stranger in the village. He was very active in the club life of Arendonk. “
