DPP Mocks KMT Candidate Hou Youyi, Condemns Police Interviewing Homeowner over Sign

The Democratic Progressive Party’s New Taipei City headquarters hung a sign saying “Lease Hou” yesterday (3rd) to mock KMT presidential candidate Hou Youyi, but the owner of the house was interviewed by the police. DPP spokespersons Zhang Zhihao, Dai Weishan and New Taipei City Councilor Huang Shujun stated bitterly today (3rd) that New Taipei City is still leaderless, and the city police station has been in a guard state for more than 100 days. But what is even more regrettable is that Hou Youyi is busy running for elections. The city’s police department is still under the control of political gangsters regardless of the municipal administration. The police at the grassroots level have neglected their duties and illegally interviewed ordinary citizens who provided signboards. This is outrageous.

The New Taipei City Party Headquarters of the Democratic Progressive Party produced a huge billboard that read, “Leasing Hou: Owns 103 suites and earns 20 million yuan a year from students.”

Huang Shujun said that this was the first billboard produced by the Democratic Progressive Party and put up in New Taipei City. The content was supported by relevant information. As a result, the city government immediately checked the water meter as soon as it was put up. The signboard was put up at 6pm yesterday, but the owner of the house immediately received a visit from the police station to his home at 7:15pm. I would like to ask Hou Youyi, what laws did the grassroots citizens violate? Can the police interview people so arbitrarily?

Huang Shujun said, why can the police inquire about people’s personal information without reason, or even publish people’s personal information? In Taiwan, a country with democracy, freedom and the rule of law, it is a fact that Hou Youyi did not go to the parliament for questioning, ran away without caring about the citizens of New Taipei City, and exploited students as charterers. If there are any issues, we will discuss them in the parliament! Don’t treat New Taipei City’s frontline public servants and police as your little brothers. What’s outrageous is that you treat the city government as the chief executive, treating civil servants as candidates for cadres, and treating the police station as the “police chief” to exert pressure and coercion on the people. It is really lawless. Hou Youyi should immediately apologize for this and take away the political gangsters.

Zhang Zhihao emphasized that the contents of this sign are well-founded and come from the unequal contract between Youyu Company and Cultural University. They are all facts. And it is clearly signed by the Democratic Progressive Party. If you want to file a lawsuit, sue the Democratic Progressive Party. Don’t order the police station to find the homeowner to put pressure on the house owner and bully ordinary citizens. I advise Hou Youyi to honestly face the controversy and doubts about using Triumph Garden as a leasehold company to exploit students. “As long as Hou Ban files a lawsuit once, our party will counter-sue and make false accusations.”

DPP spokespersons Zhang Zhihao, Dai Weishan and New Taipei City Councilor Huang Shujun stated bitterly today (3rd) that New Taipei City is still leaderless, and the city police station has been in a guard state for more than 100 days.

What is even more regrettable is that Hou Youyi is busy running for elections and does not care about municipal administration or public security. The political mafia still controls the city police station. The grassroots police officers ignore the official business and illegally interview ordinary citizens who provide signboards. It is extremely outrageous.
