Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked US President Joe Biden to prevent the International Criminal Court in The Hague from issuing arrest warrants for Israeli officials.

Details: Members of Congress from both parties have also warned the International Criminal Court of US retaliation if arrest warrants are issued against senior Israeli officials – and legislation to that effect is already being drafted .
The ICC has been investigating allegations of war crimes against Israeli and Palestinian armed militias since 2014.
The White House declined to comment on Netanyahu’s conversation with Biden, but said “the ICC has no jurisdiction in this situation and we do not support their investigation.”
Several Democratic lawmakers who have criticized Israel said they believe it is premature to evaluate potential warrants before they are published.
