Update from Friday, January 8th, 2021, 7.30 a.m .: After the riots before and in Kapitol in Washington has become the series of resignations from the administration of the outgoing US president Donald Trump continued. Education Minister declared on Thursday (07.01.2021) Betsy DeVos her resignation. In a letter to the president published by several US media outlets, she accused him of joint responsibility for the outbreak of violence. It cannot be misunderstood that his “rhetoric” had influenced the situation in the US capital, she wrote. Not many mourned her, however. The teachers’ association got to the point and wrote: “We’d be rid of them.”

Previously already had Minister of Transport Elaine Chao declared her resignation. The storming of the Kapitols in Washington after a Trump-Rede was “a traumatic and absolutely avoidable event,” stressed the wife of Mitch McConnell. “It upset me deeply and in a way that I just can’t suppress.”
In response to the riots in Washington were also the U.S. Special Envoy for Northern Ireland and former White House Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, the Deputy National Security Advisor Matt Pottinger and the spokeswoman for First Lady Melania Trump, Stephanie Grisham, resigned.

After the riot in the United States: former Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney resigns

According to his security advisor and parts of the communications team, too Mick Mulvaney, White House Chief of Staff, vacated his post. During the riot in Washington, Mulvaney had repeatedly criticized Trump on Twitter. He wrote: “The President’s tweet is not enough. He can and must stop it now. Tell these people to go home. ”

Donald Trump’s national security adviser resigned
Update, 2:04 p.m .: After the resignations of the communications directors Stephanie Grisham and Sarah Matthews also has Matt Pottinger, Donald Trump’s National Security Advisor, announced his departure. The Trump administration is threatened with a personal exodus in the last few days.

According to information from the US news portal Daily Beast, numerous other high-ranking employees have: inside Donald Trump is considering as a result of Riots in Washington D.C. to submit their resignation. Including Chris Liddell, Deputy Chief of Staff of the President im White house.
Apparently this could only be prevented through the efforts of influential Republicans like Mitch McConnell. The Senator and his crew reportedly spent the night on the phone to prevent White House staff, Pentagon officials and government directors from interacting Donald Trump to break.

Stephanie Grisham has long been a close confidante of Melania Trump. Now she is leaving the White House.

Grisham has been on Melania Trump’s team since 2017
Grisham has been part of the team around since 2015 Melania und Donald Trump, then still on the presidential campaign press team. Under Sean Spicer, also a former White House press secretary, she was promoted to deputy press secretary. In March 2017 Grisham of Melania Trump hired for her team. In this role developed Grisham quickly to one of the most important employees: inside of Melania and often defended them in public.

Reasons for resignation of the confidante of Melania Trump unclear
The reason for the withdrawal from Stephanie Grisham as press spokeswoman for Melania Trump remained in the dark for the time being. With her, however, Anna Cristina “Rickie” Niceta, social media manager of the White House, and Sarah Matthews, member of the press department of the White House, submitted their resignation. Matthews said they were “deeply disturbed” by the events surrounding the storming of the Capitol.
About the withdrawal from Grisham a White House official told CNN that it may have got into an argument with Donald Trump’s new chief of staff, Mark Meadows. Grisham has been a “very close” confidante of for a long time Melania Trump so it was said on. It was not the first time that she had considered vacating her post in the White House. Before that, Donald Trump’s team had put obstacles in her way, and she also wanted to be closer to her family in the Midwest. (Marcel Richters)
