China detects a score of new positives of COVID-19

MADRID, 17 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

China’s health authorities have confirmed this Wednesday almost twenty new cases of COVID-19 in the country, all of them imported from abroad and only four of them with symptoms.

Of the total of new infections, 15 have not presented symptoms of the disease, while the Ministry of Health has reported that there are new suspected cases in Shanghai.

In the last 24 hours, the authorities have released ten patients who have managed to overcome the disease.

Since the coronavirus pandemic broke out, 5,163 imported cases have arrived in China, including 4,990 who have already been discharged after their recovery and another 173 who remain hospitalized.

On the other hand, figures from the Chinese Health portfolio indicate that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is 90,066, including 176 patients who are still receiving medical treatment and 85,254 who have recovered.

After weeks without registering any deaths as a result of the coronavirus, one more day the number of fatalities from the disease in the country remains at 4,636.

The latest epidemiological balance reflects that there are 4,178 close contacts of someone infected who are still under medical observation, while 270 asymptomatic cases, all arrived from abroad, also remain under observation.

In Hong Kong, meanwhile, the number of accumulated positives reaches 11,329 and that of fatalities 203 deaths.
