A NFT, short for ‘non-fungible token’, is a kind of unique digital currency that can be attached to an object. That way, digital art can be sold as a unique item.
Schipper auctioned a previously unreleased song that he has been working on since childhood. It is connected to a hologram of the first synthesizer he had. The buyer receives a special hologram box to display the virtual synthesizer.
On the NFT auction site Superrare.co it became winning bid of 170,000 euros converted by an entrepreneur from Dubai.

Cabinet with hologram
The Hexagon hologram cabinet was built by his company. By inserting a cartridge into the device, you can display a hologram. If the buyer wishes, the box can also be connected to the internet, after which he may be able to receive new holograms from Don Diablo.
It was the first NFT to be auctioned by Schipper. In a video explaining more about the project, he says he wanted to make his first NFT “very personal”. That’s why he chose a song that he has been working on since 2001 when he was 19.
“It’s the song I’ve worked on the longest in my life,” he says. However, Schipper was waiting for the right time to release the song.
