Fall Guys has crossplay support for PC and PlayStation – Gaming – News

Developer Mediatonic has added crossplay support during the current sixth season of its game Fall Guys. That means players on PC can play together with friends who play the game on PlayStation 4 or 5.

Mediatonic says that this support is due to Epic Online Services technology. Fall Guys developer was named last year acquired by Epic Games† It was already possible to lobby with others in Custom Shows, but that has now expanded to more game modes, including Squads, Duos and Main Show.

For crossplay, players must have their copy of Fall Guys linked to an Epic Account. Players who have not yet done so will be reminded at the start of the game. Once the link has been made, a functionality will become available to invite others. Players who were already added as friends on PlayStation or Steam will automatically appear in Epic’s friends list.

Fall Guys was released in August 2020 for the PlayStation 4 and Windows. In the party game, players must complete levels with up to 60 other players. On each course, players face strange obstacles and must battle against opponents and natural laws. In some levels they have to work together. Players keep dropping out until there is a winner. Tweakers wrote earlier a review of Fall Guys.

The battleroyale game should have been available last year for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, but at the end of last year Mediatonic reported that that didn’t work† The studio now says that development is being completed and a release is imminent, but it’s not ready for the current update yet. Mediatonic does not yet mention a concrete release date for those platforms.
