Disney fires a dubbing actor from Valladolid for a ‘tweet’

Social networks, broadcast deadlines and the excess of zeal of some boss have played a trick on the voice actor Valladolid Rodri Martin, whom Disney Plus has removed from a project for an innocent comment on his Twitter account.
Formed on the stage with amateur companies such as the Grupo de Teatro de la UVA, Teatrezzo or Arcón de Olid, and a disciple of dubbers such as Eduardo Gutiérrez, Martín (Valladolid, 1985) announced to his followers, at the beginning of the year in the aforementioned network social, his participation in the first series made by Marvel Studios for Disney, WandaVision, a day after its premiere.

Were little more than 30 words with which he expressed his joy at having “the privilege” to be able to lend his voice to Evan Peters, the actor who gives life to Peter Maximov, ‘Quicksilver‘, and whom Rodri Martín had already dubbed in his appearances in the X-Men film installments (Apocalypse, Days of the Future Past and Dark Phoenix).

At a time when studios try to keep the suspense as much as possible, looking for surprises that displace the public – the character of ‘Quicksilver’ died in one of the films of the Avengers franchise, although in this saga the character played him Another actor–, the error of the Valladolid, apparently, was that Mercurio did not appear until the fifth episode of the sitcom, which was not yet available on the Disney + streaming platform, which made the first two chapters available to viewers on 15 January, to be broadcasting the following, one by one, every seven days.

Although Rodri Martin did not take long to delete his Twitter account, Disney decided to relieve him and give the dialogues of Peters to Manuel Gimeno – He has dubbed, among others, Robert Pattinson, Shia Lebeouf or Justin Timberlake – according to different digital reports.
The Valladolid actor, dejected by what happened, has not wanted to make statements to this newspaper.

Renowned voice actor, Rodri Martín has worked, on the other side of the microphone, in productions such as War horse, by Steven Spielberg, and The three Musketeers, by Paul WS Anderson, as well as in series such as Falling skies, Jake and the pirates of Never Never and Dexter. He has also participated in the filming of short films such as El Cuarto, by Mario Blanca and Cristina Edreira, or The Theory of the Airport, by Ángel Enríquez.
