Detached house completely damaged in fire – fvn.no

One person got out when it started burning in a detached house last night.

ARENDAL: – There has been a powerful fire, and as I understand it, the home is completely damaged after the fire, says operations manager Jarl Nilsen in Agder police district.

At 02.30 on Tuesday night, the police stated that a fire had been reported in a house in Eydehavn northeast of Arendal. The emergency services moved out.

It was quickly reported that there had been a person in the home who had escaped safely.

– The fire was reported by a resident. The person in question had been awakened by the smoke alarm and escaped without physical injuries, says operations manager Nilsen.

When the police and fire brigade arrived at the address, the home was already on fire.

– The home is relatively centrally located, so the emergency services arrived quickly and started extinguishing. In other words, it went quickly from the time the fire was discovered until the home was overheated, Nilsen says.

The homeowner was alone in the home when it started to burn. The man was taken care of by health on the spot.

Task leader Rune Vårdal Paulsen in Østre Agder Brannvesen is clear to Fædrelandsvennen’s freelance photographer on the spot that the smoke alarm saved the life of the resident.

No danger of spreading

The house is not close to other houses, so there was never a danger of the fire spreading.

Operations Manager Nilsen says that the cause of the fire is currently unknown.

– We do not know why or where in the house it started to burn. Now the home is cordoned off, so further investigations will provide answers to this, he says.

On Tuesday morning, the fire service is working with post-extinguishing on the fire site.
