Brussels Airport experienced one of its least-traveled November months in its history. Last month, just over 230,000 passengers passed through the gates of Brussels Airport, barely 12% of the number of travelers in November 2019.

Fortunately, even if this only partially compensates for the decrease in passenger traffic, our cargo sector is running at full speed and playing a major role in the transport of vaccines against Covid. “
Additional flights to certain destinations
In December, and in particular during the second half of the month, Brussels Airport is however expecting a rebound in the number of its travelers. “We will offer more than 65 daily departures via 43 airlines. The latter will set up additional flights so that passengers can visit family and friends abroad at Christmas time. “, one explains on the side of the airport. Additional flights will also be made to destinations that are not yet subject to strict travel restrictions, such as the Canary Islands where only a negative test is required.
For its part, Brussels Airlines will deploy additional flights to Africa with more transfer possibilities from Europe and North America.
The most popular destinations during the two week vacation are Spain and the Canary Islands, Portugal, Morocco, Turkey and Poland. At the Intercontinental level, the Gulf region, North America (Washington, New York, Montreal) and Africa (especially Kinshasa) are the most popular destinations.
