Densus 88 arrest wife of MIT leader Ali Kalora

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Special Detachment Team (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police Headquarters arrested L alias Umm Syifa (28) who is the wife of the leader of the East Indonesia Mujahidin group (MIT), Ali Kalora |.

“The person concerned is the wife of the DPO on behalf of Ali Kalora, MIT’s amir (leader),” said Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police’s Public Relations Division Brigadier General (Pol) Awi Setiyono at the Bareskrim Building, South Jakarta, Tuesday (18/8/2020).

L was arrested at Puna Bridge, Kasiguncu, Poso Pesisir Selatan, Central Sulawesi, on July 29, 2020.

“(L) hid information about the whereabouts of a terrorist group that has been set in the wanted list,” he said.

Awi said that L’s other role was to join the MIT group for 23 days.

In addition, on the same day, Densus 88 also arrested another member of the MIT group with the initials YS Kalora (21).

Meanwhile, YS was arrested in Tangkura Village, Poso, Central Sulawesi.

From the police statement, YS played a role in delivering prospective members of the MIT group to logistics for the terrorist group.

“Delivered Faith to the Tangkura area to join the MIT group. Second, we plan to deliver Rp. 1,590,000 in cash and food or cake to the MIT group, “said Awi.

The two suspects were charged under Article 15 in conjunction with Article 7 and Article 13 letter C of Law Number 5 of 2018 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism (Anti-terrorism Law) with the threat of a maximum imprisonment of life.
